Wisconsin Clean Cities, Alliant Energy to Host National Drive Electric Week Ride & Drive

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 21, 2017 – Wisconsin Clean Cities and Alliant Energy are partnering for a National Drive Electric Week Ride & Drive on Sept. 14 to highlight the clean-air benefits and cost savings of electric vehicles, representatives announced Thursday.

“We’re excited to showcase all of the benefits of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure as part of the seventh annual National Drive Electric Week,” Wisconsin Clean Cities Executive Director Lorrie Lisek said. “This event is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about the vehicles and technologies and how they can help consumers save money while contributing to cleaner air.”

The National Drive Electric Week Ride & Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Alliant Energy Headquarters, 4902 N. Biltmore Lane in Madison, Wisc.

Information on Nissan LEAF rebates will be presented at the event as well as details on rebates for installing home and workplace electric vehicle charging stations for electricity customers of Alliant Energy. Learn more about the charging station rebates here.

Through Sept. 30, Nissan North America in partnership with Wisconsin Clean Cities and REV UP WISCONSIN is offering up to $17,500 off the purchase of a new Nissan LEAF all-electric vehicle to employees and customers of Alliant Energy, Madison Gas and Electric, Minnesota Power, We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service and Xcel Energy. Nissan and its all-electric LEAF have served as the National Drive Electric Week exclusive automotive sponsor since 2013.

The event is one of more than 200 taking place nationwide during National Drive Electric Week, which is presented by Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association.

The event is also being presented in collaboration with the Midwest EVOLVE (Electric Vehicle Opportunities: Learning, eVents, Experience) project, a three-year effort aimed at demonstrating the performance and environmental benefits of plug-in electric vehicles through showcases, ride and drives and other events. Wisconsin Clean Cities is a partner on the seven-state project with seven other Clean Cities coalitions and the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest.
